KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has pledged USD 300,000 for the repair and upkeep of Dashrath Stadium. This decision was made during a two-day meeting at the ANFA Complex.
Beyond the current repairs, ANFA intends to ask the Minister of Youth and Sports and the member secretary of the National Sports Council to take over the ongoing maintenance and operation of the stadium.
The association has highlighted the need for a modern football stadium that meets international standards, with a seating capacity between 25,000 and 40,000 spectators.
In line with this, ANFA will also seek government assistance for acquiring land for a new stadium.
The meeting resolved to allocate USD 2.2 million for this new project and formed a three-member committee, led by Vice President Deepak Khatiwada, with Vice President Dawa Lama and working committee member Manish Joshi.
