KATHMANDU : The bodies of those who died in the violence that erupted following the protest by the Gen Z group on September 8 and 9 is being handed over to their families.
Head of the Forensic Department of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Dr Gopal Chaudhary, said that the bodies of those who died in the Gen z movement have started being handed over to their families after postmortem.
According to him, the process of handing over the bodies to the families after the postmortem has started.
36 bodies were taken to the Forensic Department of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for postmortem.
The identity of two women and a man is yet to be ascertained.
According to Dr Prakash Budhathoki, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, 1,872 people were injured in the protest. Of these, 1,465 have been discharged after treatment. 299 of the injured are currently being treated at 61 different hospitals across the country.
