KATHMANDU: On the occasion of Constitution Day 2025, President Ramchandra Paudel has extended his warmest wishes to Nepali citizens both at home and abroad.
Issuing a message, he paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the fight for a democratic republic and expressed deep respect for the leaders who spearheaded the movements to make Nepal a republic.
President Paudel highlighted the significance of the constitution, enacted on September 20, 2015, as the culmination of the people’s long struggle against oppression under a unitary system. He underscored the constitution’s role in uniting Nepal’s diverse society ethnically, linguistically, and culturally, within the framework of a federal system.
Paudel called on all Nepalis to unite in their collective aspirations for sustainable peace, good governance, and prosperity through the federal democratic republican system.
Similarly, Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav also urged to mark Constitution Day 2025 with a message of unity and progress.
Issuing a message, he praised the constitution as a historic achievement of the Nepali people, born out of a long and arduous struggle for justice, equality, and sovereignty. Yadav reflected on the inclusive nature of the document, which binds Nepal’s multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, and multi-cultural society into a unified whole. He highlighted the constitution’s ability to adapt to contemporary challenges, including addressing movements such as the ‘Gen-Z’ protests.
Yadav reaffirmed the importance of inclusivity, equal distribution of power, and empowering local and provincial governments to strengthen the federal system.
