KANCHANPUR: Following unprecedented rainfall of 620.4 mm within 24 hours, Kanchanpur district is experiencing widespread flooding, submerging most areas including Hanumannagar, which received 570 mm of rain during the same period.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Umesh Joshi reported that 1,622 individuals from 466 households have been moved to safety as flooding continues to affect settlements in Dodhara Chandani Municipality, Bhimdatta Municipality, and other areas of the district.
Tragically, a child named Solu Dhanuk lost his life in Krishnapur when floodwaters entered his home while he was sleeping in a cradle.
