KATHMANDU: Fourteen demonstrators, who were injured in a Gen Z protest held in the Kathmandu Valley, died in the course of treatment at different hospitals.
Similarly, more than 100 people injured in the protest are undergoing treatment at various health facilities.
Six demonstrators died in the course of treatment at the Trauma Centre, while 25 injured demonstrators are receiving treatment there. Of them, five people’s health status is critical.
According to Civil Service Hospital, three out of the injured people receiving treatment in the hospital died. Out of the 20 injured ones undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College, one succumbed to injury.
Likewise, 34 injured demonstrators are receiving treatment at Everest Hospital, while three of them breathed their last. An injured person died in the course of treatment at TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, where 16 injured people are receiving treatment.
The Ministry of Health and Population has directed to make arrangements for free treatment for the injured.
Spokesperson at the Home Ministry, Ananda Kafle, shared that the collection of the details on the loss that occurred in the GenZ demonstration was underway.
