KATHMANDU: Nepal lost to host Scotland in the triangular one-day series under the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2.
In the match held at Dundee-based Fort Hill Cricket Stadium on Sunday, the host defeated Nepal by two runs.
Chasing a mammoth target of 324 runs, Nepal was confined to 321 runs in the 50 limited overs.
For Nepal, Bhim Sarki played an enduring inning making highest contribution of 73 off 85 that included eight boundaries.
Bhim and Arif Sheikh had a partnership of 94 runs. Sheikh was out for 39 off 55, striking five fours. Similarly, Vice captain Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 56 off 51.
He had a significant partnership of 105 runs for the seventh wicket with Sompal Kami. Sompal was out for 67 off 44, making three boundaries and four sixes.
Scotland’s Captain Richie Berrington made the century for the team with 102 runs. In the match, Nepal’s Karan KC and Dipendra Singh Airee took equal two wickets each while Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi took one.
