KATHMANDU: Representing both Nepal Veterinary Association and he SAARC Regional Veterinary Association, Dr. Sital Kaji Shrestha, General Secretary of SAARC Regional Veterinary Association, addressed the 2025 General Assembly of World Veterinary Association (WVA GA) in Washington D.C, USA.
Addressing the General Assembly on July 18 Dr. Shrestha acknowledged the works done by the Nepali veterinarians and urge for the international collaboration to strengthen the workforce in Nepal. He was also open to host any kind of WVA events in the future. Similarly, he stated that SAARC regional veterinary association would soon be the member organization of WVA in near future, according to press note issued by Shrestha’s secretariat.
He also had courtesy meeting with president of the national associations from Sri Lanka, Korea, Philippines, Japan and Korea.
The GA was attended by people from 90 countries. Nepal became the member of World Veterinary Association in 1998. WVA was established in 1863. The next GA of WVA is scheduled to take place in Tokyo, Japan in 2026.
