Nepal wins against Canada with Aasif’s half century

KATHMADNU: Nepal has defeated Canada by 6 wickets in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Warm-up match, played in the MA Chidambaram Stadium today.

Chasing a challenging target of 162 runs set by Canada, Nepal reached the target in 18 overs, losing 4 wickets, with 12 balls remaining.

Winning the toss, Canada chose to bat first.

Canada scored 161 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

For Canada, Navneet Dhaliwal scored 41 runs, while Shreyas Movva remained unbeaten on 38. Kanwarpal Tathgur added 25 runs, Jaskaran Singh scored 21, and Nicholas Kirton made 10 runs.

In bowling, Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane and Kushal Bhurtel took two wickets each, while Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav claimed one wicket each.

Chasing the target of 162 runs, Aasif Sheikh led Nepal’s batting with a half-century. He scored 58 runs off 29 balls, hitting six fours and three sixes. Sundeep Jora contributed 44 runs, while Gulsan Jha remained not out on 31 runs.
