KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ emphasized the critical role of delivering services in line with people’s aspirations to bolster federalism.
Speaking at a meeting with the office-bearers of the Inter-Legislative Forum at his residence in Baluwatar, he called for concerted efforts from relevant agencies.
“The establishment of the Forum to enhance parliamentary effectiveness is pivotal. Regular discussions like these are essential. The government is committed to earnestly considering the Forum’s findings and endeavoring to address them comprehensively,” stated the Prime Minister.
In the dialogue, Dahal highlighted an ongoing debate between proponents and opponents of the federal democratic republic, stressing the need for improved service delivery to citizens.
“We stand for reinforcing the federal democratic republic and ensuring the constitution’s effective implementation,” he affirmed.
Addressing concerns about anti-federalism sentiments targeting provincial governance, the Prime Minister urged efforts to counter such tendencies.
“It’s imperative to strengthen provinces and local governments by delivering quality services to citizens,” Dahal elaborated.
The Prime Minister’s private secretariat disclosed his initiatives to expedite the conclusion of the federal civil service act and police integration efforts.
