KATHMANDU: Two individuals have been arrested for cheating people out of more than Rs 110 million by promising them lucrative salaries in the United Kingdom (UK).
A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has arrested two people. The arrested have been identified as Laxman Parajuli, aged 44, of Ratuwamai Municipality -10, Morang, and Arun Raj Sharma, aged 47, of Sabaila Municipality -12, Dhanusha.
Superintendent of Police Kajikumar Acharya, information officer for the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office in Teku said that Parajuli and Sharma were arrested from Narephant, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32 on Sunday.
Police said that they took Rs 110,697,000 from 38 people.
Both have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and action.
