KATHMANDU: Ambassador of the United States of America to Nepal Dean Richard Thompson has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
Mutual interests, cooperation, and contemporary issues were explored during the meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar today.
PM Karki expressed gratitude for the development assistance and support that the United States has been providing to Nepal for a long time.
She expressed confidence that the US will continue to provide support to Nepal for its democratic process, peace, and stability.
The PM mentioned that she expects support, especially in making the upcoming March elections free and fair.
The interim government led by Prime Minister Karki is preparing to hold elections on March 5, 2026.
It is believed that this meeting will mark a significant contribution towards further strengthening relations with the United States and enhancing Nepal’s development and democracy.
