KATHMANDU: A joint search and rescue team has recovered 11 bodies from the Audit-3 tunnel of the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project in Rasuwa District.
The victims were among those who went missing at the Upper Trishuli-1 hydropower project site during the disaster.
A joint rescue team, comprising project representatives and security personnel, located the bodies on Saturday.
After a difficult extraction process, the teams successfully brought the remains out of the tunnel by 12:30 p.m. According to rescue officials, the bodies were found trapped inside the mesh of the Audit-3 tunnel and buried under silt.
The Nepal Army stated that search and rescue operations for other missing individuals remain ongoing. The flood, which occurred on Aug. 26, caused significant damage to the project infrastructure.
