KATHMANDU: Twelve helicopters have been mobilized for search and rescue operations in flood-affected areas.
According to the Directorate of Military Public Relations and Information, Nepal Army helicopters have so far rescued 12 people—six from Syaphrubesi, two from Mailung and four from Dhunche.
Four helicopters operated by the Nepal Army and eight from private helicopter companies are currently engaged in the rescue operation.
The directorate said a Nepal Army medical team is providing emergency medical treatment at the No. 1 Military Training Centre in Trishuli to rescued and affected people.
Search and rescue operations remain underway in the affected areas.
