NAWALPUR: Eighteen people were injured after a Tulsipur-bound bus rear-ended another passenger bus along the East-West Highway at Harkapur in Gaindakot Municipality-12, Nawalpur, on Friday.
The accident occurred when the rear bus (Lu 2 Kha 6036) struck the forward bus (Lu 2 Kha 6457) traveling from Narayangadh toward Butwal, according to District Police Office Nawalpur.
The injured passengers—originating from Nawalpur, Chitwan, Dang, Rupandehi, Kalikot, Bara, and Gorkha—are currently undergoing treatment at hospitals in nearby Bharatpur.
Police have impounded both vehicles and detained one of the bus drivers, 42-year-old Lok Bahadur Thapa Magar, as investigations continue.
