DHANGADHI: An 18 month old boy has died after drowning in a bucket in Kailali.
The toddler drowned in a bucket filled with water in Janakpur, Ward No. 4 of Ghodaghodi Municipality, Kailali.
According to Police Inspector Lokraj Joshi of the District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as the 18-month-old son of local resident Deepak Subedi.
The boy was found submerged in a bucket of water set aside for cattle feed by his mother, Devaki Sapkota Subedi.
He was rescued from the bucket at around 11:30 AM today (Saturday) and immediately rushed to Ghodaghodi Hospital in Sukhad for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead at 12:30 PM.
Police Inspector Joshi stated that the body has been sent to Dododhara Hospital in Bauniya for an autopsy.
Further investigation into the incident is underway, according to the police.
