187 foreign tourists rescued since Aug 26 flash flood

KATHMANDU: Since the catastrophic flash flood occurred on August 26, the government has rescued 187 foreign tourists.

The flash flood that wiped out the corridors of Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers caused numerous people including foreign nationals go missing. However, among those out-of-contact foreign tourists, 187 have been rescued so far, according to Nepal Tourism Board.

Those rescued are 114 Indian, 27 Chinese, 20 South Korean, four German and Maltese each, while three from US, two each from Turkey, Russia, Spain, and Switzerland and one each from Portugal, Belgiau, Bulgaria and Oman.

Still, 420 foreign tourists are unaccounted for since the flash flood.
