KATHMANDU: The Red Cross Society of China has donated 2,000 body bags to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) of Nepal to support the humanitarian service in the post-disaster initiative underway in the country.
The goods arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport earlier today. The humanitarian assistance worth Rs. 2.2 million is expected to support Nepal’s ongoing disaster response and humanitarian efforts, according to the Embassy of China in Kathmandu.
It may be noted that the Chinese Red Cross Society also contributed 200,000 US dollars to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming met Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle and handed over the relief assistance provided by China to Nepal on Sunday, the Embassy said.
