BAITADI: A total of 230 vehicles were penalized for violating traffic rules in the district over a one-month period.
According to Police Inspector Suraj Singh, spokesperson for the District Police Office, the vehicles were booked during traffic checks conducted at various locations in the district throughout the month of Shrawan.
The police collected Rs 226,000 in fines from the penalized vehicles, Inspector Singh said. He added that two road accidents occurred in the district during Shrawan, resulting in injuries to people.
Meanwhile, police also arrested 20 absconding convicts in the district during the month as part of the implementation of court verdicts. Inspector Singh said the individuals had been convicted in various cases and were arrested after remaining at large.
