UDAYAPUR: At least 27 landless families in Udayapur have received land ownership certificates after living on the same land for nearly two decades without legal ownership.
The District Land Problem Resolution Committee distributed the certificates to families in the former Gaighat and Deuri areas, now part of Triyuga Municipality-5. The recipients include 22 landless Dalit families and five landless families from other communities.
With the certificates, the families have gained legal ownership of the land they have occupied for years, according to the committee.
The government has prioritized resolving land ownership issues affecting landless Dalits, other landless families and people living on unregistered settlements. The distribution is part of its efforts to provide long-term solutions and establish legal land ownership for these groups.
