KATHMANDU: A total of 388 families in Kshireshwornath Municipality-1 of Dhanusha have received land ownership certificates nearly nine years after their land was surveyed.
The residents, living in what was formerly wards 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8 of Ramadaiya Bhawadi village council, have now formally secured legal ownership of their land.
The Survey Office, Dhanusha, confirmed that while the land survey for the area was completed in 2074 BS, the distribution of certificates was delayed for years due to pending legal and administrative procedures. The authorities have now finalized these processes to issue the 388 titles.
The issuance of these certificates provides the families with clear legal standing, allowing them to use their land as collateral for loans from banks and financial institutions.
Additionally, officials noted that the formal recognition of ownership will help resolve long-standing land-related disputes in the area. Previously, 3,966 families in Dhanusha had received similar land ownership certificates.
