KATHMANDU: The Embassy of India in Kathmandu welcomed 50 Grade XI and XII students from five schools in the capital under its “Connect with the Indian Embassy” outreach programme, offering them a firsthand look at the workings of India’s diplomatic mission in Nepal.

The participating schools included DAV School (DAVSKVB), Modern Indian School, The Chandbagh School, Alok Vidyashram, and RAI School. During the visit, students toured various sections of the Embassy, including the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), gaining valuable insights into the mission’s diplomatic, cultural, and educational activities.

Deputy Chief of Mission briefed the students on the longstanding India–Nepal relationship, highlighting the close cooperation between the two neighbouring countries across multiple sectors. The session was followed by an interactive discussion with Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, who answered students’ questions and shared perspectives on diplomacy and bilateral ties.

According to the Embassy, the initiative is designed to help young people better understand the role and functioning of India’s diplomatic mission in Nepal while encouraging greater awareness of India–Nepal relations.

The Embassy said it plans to expand the programme by engaging more schools across Nepal in future editions as part of its broader youth outreach efforts.
