KATHMANDU: A total of 748 climbers successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest during the 2025 climbing season, according to data from Nepal’s Department of Tourism.
Among the successful climbers, 464 were Nepali nationals and 284 were foreign climbers. With this, the total number of people who have successfully climbed Mount Everest reached 9,825 by December 2025. The report shows that climbers from 43 different countries visited Nepal to attempt the world’s highest peak during the year.

Among foreign climbers, the highest number of successful summiteers were from India (61 climbers), followed by China (52), the United States (47), the United Kingdom (19), Russia (16), and Ukraine (8). Most climbers completed their ascent during the spring climbing season using the South-East Ridge route, the most commonly used route on the Nepal side of Mount Everest.
