KATHMANDU: In the third edition of the ACC Premier Cup One Day Cricket Tournament in Malaysia, Nepal has been invited to field after losing the toss against Saudi Arabia.
The match is being held at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval,, where Nepal aims to extend its winning streak following recent victories over Bahrain and Malaysia.
Currently leading Group A with four points from two matches, Nepal has a significant opportunity to secure a win that would advance them to the semi-finals with a game remaining.
Conversely, Saudi Arabia is struggling at the bottom of the table with only two points from three matches.
Historically, Nepal has faced Saudi Arabia in two ODI matches, winning one, with their last encounter in 2012 resulting in a nine-wicket victory for Nepal.
A scheduled match between the two teams earlier in the tournament was canceled due to rain. For today’s game, Nepal has made a strategic change to their lineup, resting fast bowler Hemant Dhami and including spinner Sher Malla in the playing XI, which features notable players such as Sandeep Lamichhane, who is also the captain.
