KATHMANDU: The Nepali cricket team, which recently secured the ACC Premier Cup title, is scheduled to return home today.
According to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the team is set to arrive in Kathmandu tonight at 9:45 p.m. via a Malaysian Airlines flight.
Nepal claimed the third edition of the men’s ACC Premier Cup title after defeating the UAE by 45 runs in the final match held on Saturday.
The team played under the captaincy of Sandeep Lamichhane, who was also named the player of the tournament for his outstanding performance throughout the competition.
With this victory, Nepal has secured its spot in the one-day Asia Cup for the second time. Nepal previously participated in the 2023 Asia Cup, where the team faced India and Pakistan in the group stage. Additionally, both Nepal and the UAE have already qualified for the Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
