KATHMANDU: Additional specialist medical teams have been deployed to the Bhote Koshi flood-affected areas.
The Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene is dispatching a team of medical specialists from Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital and Kanti Children’s Hospital to Nuwakot.
An additional team of specialist doctors is heading to Nuwakot today to make maternal and child health services more effective in the regions hit by the Bhote Koshi flood.
According to the ministry, although medical teams are currently deployed and providing care in the affected areas, there is an increased need for specialized services related to maternal and newborn, pediatric, and reproductive health care.
The medical team includes pediatrician Dr. Bina Prajapati from Kanti Children’s Hospital, alongside senior obstetrician-gynecologists Dr. Hari Kumar Shrestha and Dr. Shreeram Khadka from Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital.
The team will travel to flood-hit areas across Nuwakot and Rasuwa to deliver specialized maternal, newborn, pediatric, and reproductive health care services as required.
The ministry also noted that essential medicines and medical supplies are being dispatched alongside the team.
