All-party meeting on Bhotekoshi flood rescue and relief begins

KATHMANDU: An all-party meeting called by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane to discuss the damage caused by the Bhotekoshi floods, search and rescue operations, relief and rehabilitation has begun.

The meeting is being held at the RSP Parliamentary Party office in Singha Durbar.

Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa, Nepali Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Chairman Mahanta Thakur and Janata Samajwadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadav are among the leaders attending the meeting.

The meeting is reviewing the human and physical losses caused by the Bhotekoshi floods and discussing the search and rescue of missing people, relief for those affected and rehabilitation of flood-hit areas.

According to the RSP, the meeting was convened to promote coordination and cooperation among political parties for immediate rescue and relief efforts as well as long-term rehabilitation of the affected areas.
