KATHMANDU: An all-party meeting convened by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane to discuss the recent violence in Sunsari has begun at Singha Durbar in Kathmandu.

The meeting is being held in the Public Accounts Committee hall and has brought together leaders from major political parties to discuss the deteriorating security situation and ways to preserve communal harmony.

Among those attending are Nepali Congress Acting President Gagan Kumar Thapa, parliamentary party leader Bhishmaraj Angdembe, CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Janamat Party Chair CK Raut, Chief Whip of the Shram Sanskriti Party Aaren Rai, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chair Rajendra Lingden, and the party’s Chief Whip Khushbu Oli.

Representing the RSP are Vice President and Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle, Deputy Parliamentary Party Leader Ganesh Parajuli, and former Deputy Speaker and lawmaker Indira Rana Magar.

According to RSP General Secretary Bipin Acharya, the meeting was called in response to the highly sensitive and tragic incident in Sunsari and the tense situation that followed. While administrative authorities continue efforts to maintain law and order and prevent the spread of social hatred, political leaders believe a unified message and joint public appeal are equally necessary to promote peace, harmony, and communal coexistence.
