All-party meeting underway at Singha Durbar

KATHMANDU: An all-party meeting convened by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chair Rabi Lamichhane has commenced at the party’s parliamentary office in Singhadurbar.

The meeting, which began on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m., is focused on the formation of a high-level political mechanism for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of areas affected by the Bhotekoshi floods.

Devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers on Aug. 26 caused significant loss of life and property in districts including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading. Previous all-party meetings held on Aug. 27 and Aug. 31 had adopted a 10-point resolution aimed at search, rescue, relief distribution, and management in the flood-affected regions.

Participants in today’s meeting include RSP chair Rabi Lamichhane, general secretary Bipin Acharya, and joint general secretary Purushottam Yadav. Other attendees include Nepali Congress general secretary Gagan Thapa, CPN-UML secretary Padma Aryal, CPN (Unified Socialist) leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and Barshaman Pun, Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Gyan Bahadur Shahi, and Janamat Party chair Dr. CK Raut.
