SUNSARI: Another youth injured in a police shooting at Kaptanganj in Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3 of Sunsari has died during treatment.
Twenty-two-year-old Rabindra Mehta passed away on Tuesday while receiving treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, according to Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Amaresh Kumar Singh.
Expressing grief over the incident, Singh said in a social media post that he was deeply saddened and shocked by the death of the young man who had been critically injured in the tragic incident that occurred on Shrawan 10.
With Rabindra Mehta’s death, the number of people who have lost their lives in the incident has risen to three. Earlier, Om Prakash Mehta and Jai Prakash Mehta, who were also injured by police gunfire in the same incident, had died.
Further details regarding the circumstances of the shooting and the ongoing investigation have yet to be officially released.
