KATHMANDU: Inspector General of the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal, Narayan Dutta Poudel, has directed APF personnel to intensify efforts to curb illegal cross-border activities, prevent border-related crimes and stop revenue leakage.

The directive came after the APF chief inspected border areas in Nawalparasi West, Kapilvastu and Rupandehi districts of Lumbini Province.

During the inspection, Poudel instructed security personnel to adopt a result-oriented approach to strengthen border security and enhance enforcement against illegal activities along the Nepal-India border.

He emphasized that APF personnel deployed in the field should carry out their duties with a positive mindset, professionalism, integrity and full accountability. He also assured officers that the organization would take responsibility for shortcomings arising from actions carried out in good faith.

The APF chief further instructed personnel to remain free from financial inducements and enforce border security measures strictly to combat smuggling, cross-border crime and revenue evasion.
