KATHMANDU: Australian Ambassador to Nepal Simon Ernst and two Austrade officials met with Investment Board Nepal (IBN) Chief Executive Officer Yanki Ukyab to discuss opportunities to expand bilateral trade and investment.
According to the Australian Embassy, the discussion covered potential cooperation in tourism, information and communications technology (ICT), high-end hospitality services, transnational education and vocational training.
The meeting also explored the role of the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) Committee in strengthening trade and investment ties between the two countries.
The embassy said Australia is Nepal’s fourth-largest source of foreign direct investment, while the Nepali diaspora in Australia contributes to investment and business links between the countries. The two Austrade officials were Mukund Narayanamurti and Vik Singh.
