KATHMANDU: Janamat Party Chairman Dr. CK Raut has claimed that the current government led by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has failed completely.
Addressing a provincial-level gathering in Janakpur on Saturday, Raut stated that the administration has proven unsuccessful from every perspective.
Raut criticized the government’s failure to address the migration crisis, noting that despite promises to bring Nepalis working abroad back home, 300,000 citizens have left the country in the last four months. He further alleged that the government has caused public hardship by halting health insurance programs and restricting the import of small quantities of goods through border points. He also condemned the government for arresting individuals who criticize its activities on social media.
During the same event, Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav admitted that Madhesi parties and leaders had made significant errors in the past. He acknowledged that the pursuit of personal positions had caused them to deviate from their primary goals and emphasized the need for unity among Madhesi parties. Yadav announced that they would launch street protests following the Chhath festival.
Yadav further accused the government of forgetting the issue of constitutional amendment, despite more than six months having passed since its formation. He reiterated demands for budget allocation based on population and urged for immediate constitutional reforms. According to the organizers, over 2,000 leaders and activists from all eight districts of Madhesh Province attended the event.
