KATHMANDU: The National Security Council is currently holding a high-level meeting at Singha Durbar under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Balen Shah. This is the first meeting convened by Shah since assuming office as prime minister.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the main agenda includes the Dewanganj shooting incident in Sunsari, the evolving situation in several districts, and other pressing contemporary national issues.
The meeting is being attended by Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle, Chief Secretary Govinda Karki, Chief of Army Staff Ashok Sigdel, and Defence Secretary.
The discussions are expected to focus on the country’s security situation, law-and-order challenges, and necessary policy and administrative responses to recent developments.
