RASUWA: Devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River have left approximately 40 kilometers of road fully destroyed in Rasuwa, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure Development.
The disaster has completely snapped the essential Betrawati–Mailung–Syabrubesi–Rasuwagadhi stretch, while a 10 km section between Galchhi and Trishuli remains blocked.
Additionally, mudslides have overwhelmed 13 kilometers of the Prithvi Highway, where clearing operations are currently underway as an immediate priority.
The Ministry confirmed that 41 bridges have been completely ruined across the affected areas.
To restore critical transport links, authorities are preparing to install Bailey bridges at key junctions, starting with Betrawati to reconnect Rasuwa to the national road network.
While the Nepal government currently holds seven 50-meter Bailey bridges in stock, both India and China have pledged to urgently supply additional units.
A total of 20 heavy machines—10 state-owned and 10 mobilized from the private sector—are operating on-site to expedite debris clearance, bridge installation, and full infrastructure reconstruction.
