KATHMANDU: The tragic aftermath of the flash flood in Bhotekoshi has led to the recovery of 258 dead bodies from various locations. This devastating event, which struck on Wednesday, has resulted in significant loss of life and property across several districts, including Rasuwa and Nuwakot.
As per the latest update from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, the number of dead bodies recovered so far include two bodies from Rasuwa, 12 from Nuwakot, 27 from Dhading, 20 from Gorkha, 108 from Chitwan, 12 from Tanahu, 63 from Nawalparasi East, and 15 from Nawalparasi West.
In response to this disaster, a total of 13,295 security personnel have been deployed to assist with search and rescue operations in the affected areas. This includes 725 members from the Nepal Police, 4,200 from the Nepali Army, and 1,845 from the Armed Police Force.
Today alone, 351 individuals have been rescued thanks to 69 helicopter flights. However, the situation remains concerning, as 910 people are currently unaccounted for.
This group includes 28 from the Nepal Police, 44 from the Nepali Army, 13 from the Armed Police Force, 15 from the Customs Office, four from the Immigration Office, and 161 from Rasuwa, along with one from Nuwakot.
Additionally, 517 foreign nationals and 127 Nepali citizens living abroad who came to visit Nepal are also out of contact.
