KATHMANDU: Thirteen-Armed Police Force (APF) personnel deployed in Timure, and Mailung areas in Rasuwa have gone missing since a devastating flood in the district-based Bhotekoshi River this morning.
According to Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal Joint Spokesperson Shailendra Thapa, nine APF personnel have gone missing from Timure and four from Mailung. Communication with the affected areas has been disrupted following the flood.
A search operation from for the missing people is underway.
A team of 60 personnel from the Sinamangal-based Disaster Rescue Battalion has already departed for the affected areas to carry out search and rescue operations.
APF squads are engaged in preparedness and response efforts from Rasuwa to Triveni in Nawalparasi district.
Security forces said that some employees working in the Rasuwagadhi area, tourists and even the general public have been left out of contact following the flood.
