Bhotekoshi flood death toll rises to 157

KATHMANDU: At least 157 people have lost their lives in the flooding triggered by the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday, according to Nepal Police.

Police said the deceased comprise 34 women, 63 men, six girls and seven boys, while the identities of 47 bodies have yet to be established.

In Rasuwa, the bodies of three men have been recovered. In Nuwakot, authorities have recovered the bodies of six women and seven men.

Dhading has reported the recovery of 10 women, 10 men and one girl, along with six unidentified bodies. In Gorkha, the bodies of two women, eight men and one boy have been recovered, while eight bodies remain unidentified.

In Chitwan, authorities have recovered the bodies of 13 women, 18 men, one girl and four boys, along with 28 unidentified bodies.

Meanwhile, Tanahun has reported the recovery of the bodies of one woman, five men, one girl and one boy, as well as one unidentified body.

In Nawalparasi East, the bodies of two women, 12 men, three girls and one boy have been recovered, along with four unidentified bodies.
