KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has begun a high-level discussion with the chiefs of all three security agencies on the situation following the devastating flash floods that struck the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems on August 26.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), the discussion is focused on the on-going search and rescue operations, the distribution of humanitarian assistance, and the availability of treatment facilities for those affected. The Prime Minister is expected to receive briefings on the latest developments and issue necessary directions to the security agencies.
Presently, a meeting between the Prime Minister and Nepali Army (NA) Chief Ashok Raj Sigdel is underway at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, He is scheduled to meet Nepal Police Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki and Armed Police Force Inspector General Narayan Dutta Poudyal afterward.
