KATHMANDU: The body of Som Kumar Tamang, a 44-year-old Nepali worker from Tehrathum who was killed in an Iranian missile strike in Kuwait, has been repatriated to Nepal.
The coffin carrying Tamang’s remains arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport shortly after midnight on Saturday aboard a Kuwait Airways flight.
Tamang, who had been working as a driver in the Gulf since 2022, was killed on Thursday when an Iranian missile struck a building of a Chinese company in northern Kuwait.
He is the second Nepali national to lose his life in the latest escalation of the conflict in West Asia. Earlier, Diwas Shrestha of Gorkha was killed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) amid the regional hostilities.
