Both Houses of Federal Parliament set meetings today

KATHMANDU: Both Houses of the Federal Parliament are set to hold their meetings today.

The House of Representatives (HoR) will meet at Singhadurbar at 1.00 pm with possible agenda, including presentation of a proposal by Minister for Women, Children, Gender, Sexual Minorities, and Social Security Sita Badi seeking consideration on the ‘Child-related (First Amendment) Bill, 2026.’

Similarly, the National Assembly will meet at 1:15 pm. In today’s session, the concerned ministers will respond to oral questions related to the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and the Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene.

Chairperson of the Legislative Management Committee, Krishna Bahadur Rokaya, is scheduled toi present the committee’s report on the ‘Infectious Animal Disease (Control) Bill, 2026’ to the House.

Also on the occasion, Chairperson of the Development, Economic Affairs, and Good Governance Committee, Krishna Prasad Paudel, will present a proposal seeking discussion on the study report on drinking water, sanitation, and water resource management in Madhesh Province, 2026.’

Likewise, meetings of three different parliamentary committees are also scheduled to take place today.

The Federal Parliament Secretariat has stated that the schedule includes meetings of the Finance Committee, the Committee on Education, Health, and Information Technology, and the Committee for Monitoring and Evaluation of the Implementation of the State’s Directories, Policies, and Responsibilities.
