KATHMANDU: Both Houses of the Federal Parliament are set to hold their meetings today to discuss various legislative and parliamentary issues. The House of Representatives is scheduled to convene at 1:00 pm, followed by the National Assembly at 1:15 pm.
During the House of Representatives meeting, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is expected to table the Citizens Investment Fund (Third Amendment) Bill, 2083, and the Payment and Settlement (First Amendment) Bill, 2083.
Minister Wagle will also present a proposal seeking consideration of the Employees Provident Fund (Tenth Amendment) Bill, 2083.
Likewise, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam is scheduled to table a proposal seeking a general discussion on Nepal’s membership in the Council of Asian Legislative Institutions.
The Speaker will also present a condolence motion following the death of former National Assembly member Shukraraj Sanyok.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Balendra Shah is scheduled to present the Annual Report of the National Human Rights Commission for the fiscal years 2080/81 and 2081/82 at the National Assembly meeting.
Prime Minister Shah is also expected to table a proposal for discussion on the Bill on Revival of the Existing Provisions of the Nepal Special Service Act, 2042, which was received from the House of Representatives along with the report of the Legislative Management Committee.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the National Assembly is scheduled to discuss and pass the proposal.
