KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) and National Assembly (NA) are scheduled to meet today, with the lower house set to take up bills concerning the Nepal Law Commission and reconciliation, while the upper house will consider a committee report related to the Nepal Special Service Act.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam is scheduled to present the Nepal Law Commission (First Amendment) Bill, 2083 at the HoR meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm at Singha Durbar.
Minister Gautam is also scheduled to table a proposal seeking consideration of the Reconciliation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2083.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, another possible agenda is for Minister Gautam to present a proposal seeking Nepal’s membership in the Council of Asian Legislative Institutions.
The NA meeting is scheduled to begin at 1:15 pm. During the meeting, a committee report on the Nepal Special Service Act, 2042: Revival of Existing Provisions Bill, 2083 is expected to be presented.
Krishna Bahadur Rokaya, chairperson of the Legislative Management Committee, is scheduled to table the report.
Meanwhile, NA Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal is scheduled to inform the House about the contents of a letter received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers concerning the assignment of Cabinet members.
The Finance Committee and the Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Welfare Committee are also scheduled to hold meetings today.
