KATHMANDU: King of the United Kingdom, Charles III, has expressed his sorrow over the loss of lives and properties caused by the devastating flood and landslides along the Nepal-China border area.
In a message today, the British monarch noted that many people in the UK have strong, deep, and personal connections with the region, and extended his heartfelt sympathy to those who have lost loved ones.
The King also expressed compassion for the many families anxiously awaiting news about the safety of their friends and relatives. “We also extend our sincere sympathy to the families of all security personnel who lost their lives in the brave performance of their duties in the service of others, and we are deeply grateful to all those who have selflessly taken part in the rescue efforts,” the message reads.
Highlighting that his thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected, King Charles stated that the United Kingdom, as always, stands ready to provide help and support to those in need.
