KATHMANDU: The Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday approved a package of significant legislative and administrative measures, including the endorsement of several important bills for presentation in the Federal Parliament.

According to government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel, the meeting gave approval to move forward with bills related to constitutional office holders’ remuneration and service conditions, mining and mineral resources, control of infectious animal diseases, amendments to the Passport Act, human trafficking and transportation control, prohibition and regulation of child labor, liabilities of domestic air services, amendments to the Mediation Act, and amendments to the Employees Provident Fund Act.

In a major financial enforcement decision, the Cabinet also authorized the Director General of the Department of Money Laundering Investigation, or an official designated by the Director General, to serve as the investigating authority for offences related to foreign exchange violations.
The meeting further nominated Aedraj Dahal of Sindhuli as a member of the Problematic Cooperative Management Committee, a body responsible for overseeing troubled cooperative institutions.

In the education sector, the Cabinet approved the Technical Education and Vocational Training Council (Sixth Amendment) Regulations, 2083, proposed by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
The decisions reflect the government’s effort to push forward a broad legislative agenda touching constitutional governance, financial regulation, labor protection, aviation, education, and anti-trafficking measures, while also strengthening institutional and administrative oversight mechanisms.
