KATHMANDU: The government has decided that Prime Minister and all members of the Council of Ministers will deposit one month’s salary into the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to support ongoing disaster response efforts.

The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting held today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

In the same meeting, the Cabinet directed the Ministry of Finance to prepare a relief and rehabilitation package for individuals and commercial entities affected by last Wednesday’s flooding along the Nepal-China border in Rasuwagadhi, the Bhote Koshi River, and downstream areas.

Additionally, the government granted in-principle approval to Krishi Samagri Company Limited to procure 25,000 metric tons of DAP fertilizer from India through a Government-to-Government (G2G) mechanism.
