LALITPUR: Bagmati Province Chief Minister Kiran Thapa has pledged that the provincial government will prioritize making health services more accessible for all citizens.
Speaking at an event today to mark the World Heart Day, he emphasized that a healthy population is essential for the country’s development. Hence, the government is focusing on health and education as top priorities.
Chief Minister Thapa mentioned that efforts are underway to expand specialist services, along with integrated health services and nutrition promotion programmes in the 13 regional hospitals across Bagmati province.
Former Minister of State for Health, Umesh Shrestha, echoed this sentiment, stressing the need for significant investment in health and education, as well as providing free services to those in need.
Senior Cardiologist Dr Bhagwan Koirala was of the view that rather than just treating illnesses after they arise focus should be on prevention and raising awareness about health issues.
