KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has recommended filing cases against four officials of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) after concluding its investigation into financial irregularities and match-fixing.
According to the investigation, there were irregularities amounting to over Rs 6.65 million.
The CIB submitted the report to the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday with this conclusion.
In the report, CIB spokesperson Anupam Shumsher JB Rana informed that ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, General Secretary Kiran Rai, Treasurer Rabindra Joshi, and Accountant Sanjiv Pandey have been recommended to be made defendants.
“The study of the evidence and documents obtained during the investigation showed irregularities of Rs 6.65 million.
Based on that, it has been recommended to make them defendants and file cases,” spokesperson JB Rana told RSS.
CIB focused its investigation on ANFA’s financial transactions, decision-making processes, and activities related to various competitions.
“We have already sent the investigation report to the Attorney General’s Office. Now, based on the facts, evidence, and legal provisions mentioned in the report, necessary decision will be made,” spokesperson Rana said.
