KATHMANDU: The government has made a comprehensive review of taxes.

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle said so while presenting the annual budget for fiscal year of 2026/027 at the joint meeting of the federal parliament- the House of Representatives and the National Assembly.

He said that the ceiling of the income tax has been expanded to Rs. 10 lakh for an individual, that means no income tax up to the annual income of Rs. one million for an individual.

Customs reduced in 273 types pf industrial raw materials. Customs limited to seven layers. cancel of excise duty of 360 goods. Different scattered taxes integrated into green tax.
