KATHMANDU: Targeting consumers facing a shortage of liquefied petroleum (LPG) cooking gas, various brands of gas cylinders will be sold from seven designated locations across the Kathmandu Valley on Sunday.

The distribution will be conducted by various gas industries in coordination with the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and the District Administration Office, Kathmandu.

According to the NOC, the sales points include the NOC premises in Teku, the Animal Services Branch in Chapali (Budhanilkantha), the Radha Soami premises in Kirtipur, the Tudikhel premises in Nayabazar, the Tarakeshwar Municipality premises, the Chandragiri Municipality Office, and the National Tuberculosis Center in Thimi, Bhaktapur.

NOC Spokesperson Manoj Kumar Thakur confirmed via a press release that gas cylinders will be available for purchase between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

The emergency sales are intended specifically for consumers who have been unable to obtain gas through their regular dealers and require an immediate supply.

Eligible buyers must present a citizenship certificate or a National Identity Card at the designated locations to make a purchase.

Meanwhile, the NOC emphasized that regular imports of LPG cooking gas are ongoing, and gas companies continue to distribute cylinders through their standard dealer network.
