DHANUSHA: The District Administration Office, Dhanusha, has lifted the curfew imposed in Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City and surrounding affected areas.
According to a notice issued by Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Luintel, the curfew was lifted with effect from 5:00 a.m. on Monday.
The curfew had been imposed from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday under the Local Administration Act, 2028, following unrest in the district.
The administration said the decision was taken after protest groups withdrew all agitation programmes, the security situation improved and normal public life began to resume. The decision was based on a review of the latest security situation and recommendations from the District Security Committee.
Authorities have urged residents to maintain peace, security and social harmony as transport services, businesses and other public activities return to normal.
